Every year I invite a group of friends for a dinner the Saturday before Christmas. I do the cooking but everyone has found a part to play over the years. Some choose the wines, some decorate the tree and table, others underwrite the cost of exgravagant ingredients, or help clear the table and wash up between courses. ONe or two stir the pots and help plate.
And all, of course, eat, drink, and are merry.
